nearby inventory gets buried under listings from far away
Facebook Marketplace showing items too far away?
Even with a location and radius set, Marketplace often includes listings from well beyond your intended range. MarketClean hides listings that show a distance beyond your limit so local inventory stays easier to find.

Local browsing gets diluted when distant results slip through.

What "local" means to Facebook Marketplace.
The radius is a suggestion, not a wall
- Marketplace treats your set distance as a preference, not a strict cutoff.
- When the feed has room, listings from further away are included to fill it out.
- The distance displayed on each card is accurate — the listing really is that far. The issue is Marketplace still shows it to you.
Distance shown vs distance enforced
- Each card shows the listing's actual distance from your location.
- Marketplace does not guarantee this number stays within your filter setting.
- A listing showing "47 miles" with a 25-mile filter set is a normal occurrence — not a bug you can fix in your account settings.
A strict local limit on top of whatever the feed shows.
reads the distance on each listing and compares it to your limit
hides listings beyond your chosen range before you see them
applies as new listings load while scrolling
configurable in miles or kilometres
MarketClean filters your view — it doesn't change what Marketplace fetches.
does not change your location or radius setting on Marketplace
does not guarantee that all listings carry accurate distance data
does not interact with, click, or automate anything on your behalf
All filtering runs locally in your browser. No listing data is collected or transmitted.

Local browsing questions buyers ask
Why is Facebook Marketplace showing listings so far away?
Marketplace uses a server-side radius that may expand when nearby inventory is limited. The distance shown on listing cards reflects actual seller location, but results from further away can still appear in the feed.
Can I make Marketplace only show nearby listings?
MarketClean can hide listings that show a distance beyond your chosen limit in your browser. It doesn't change how Marketplace fetches results, but it removes far-away listings from what you see.
What distance units does MarketClean support?
MarketClean supports both miles and kilometres. You can switch between units in the popup settings without losing your other configuration.
What happens when a listing doesn't show a distance?
You can configure a fallback behavior: keep the listing visible, fade it, or hide it. A fallback center city option lets MarketClean estimate distance from a city name when no distance is shown on the card.
Does MarketClean work as more listings load while scrolling?
Yes. MarketClean applies filtering as listings load, including when you scroll to load more results. New cards that appear in the feed are evaluated against your distance limit automatically.
